Energy Performance Certificate required for all properties
It is a requirement for all property being sold to have an energy performance certificate (EPC) in place. If you are selling a residential property then it will probably have a home information pack, which includes an EPC. But if your property does not have, or does not need, a HIP then you will still need an EPC.
Similarly if you are proposing to let your residential property then you will also need to an EPC to show to your tenants.
However, if you have only recently bought the property, then you are able to use the existing EPC for ten years from the date on which it was produced.
If you need help in arranging a speedy EPC, we have contacts with national and local agents and can assist you.
