Practice areas

Lee specialises in criminal defence. He started work at Beswicks in 1998, becoming an accredited police station representative before qualifying as a solicitor in 2000.

Lee is an experienced duty solicitor with extensive experience as an advocate in the Magistrates Courts. He now specialises in cases in the Youth Court as this has a different procedural and sentencing regime than the adult courts. He also specialises in defending anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) applications

Recent noteable cases

  • Defending a “drink drive” allegation with evidential inconsistencies, leading to successful acquittal at trial.
  • Defending application by the Police for an ASBO following conviction against a youth client for a minor offence when, if granted, the restrictions would be extremely onerous.
  • Representing a surgeon in motoring case who was liable to disqualification from driving. Successful argument to the Court to find “ exceptional hardship” to allow client to retain licence and continue driving.

Personal

Lee is a keen footballer and supporter of Stoke City (the mighty Potters)
He is an avid music lover and gig- goer.
