Business owners and HR managers attended an exclusive seminar, which aimed to demystify GDPR.
The seminar, hosted by Beswicks Legal, focused on GDPR from an employers’ perspective, highlighting the key considerations for organisations when handling staff data.
Laura Franklin, Beswicks’ employment solicitor, gave a presentation outlining the importance of having clear, specific policies and procedures in place, as well as documenting the legal bases on which certain types of personal data is processed.
Laura from Beswicks explained: “GDPR is raising lots of questions among business owners and managers. The new General Data Protection Regulation comes into force on 25 May, which is just five weeks away.
“We thought it would be helpful to give our Beswicks HR clients some clear advice and an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.”
She added: “It was fantastic to see so many clients with a desire to learn more about GDPR and ensure their businesses are applying the new regulations correctly.”
