Beswicks’ commercial property team is delighted to have acted for University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) and its Global Institute of Sport (GIS) in the £16m expansion of their Manchester Campus.

UCFB and GIS are leading providers of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in football and the sports industry.

The educator’s latest expansion will enable 2,500 students to study with UCFB and GIS in Manchester by 2027.

Our commercial property team under the leadership of Senior Associate Laura Pyatt provided expert legal advice and support on the entire project, which includes a new academic centre in Salford and an innovative multimedia centre at MediaCity.

Laura Pyatt said: “This is a fantastic project to enhance UCFB and GIS facilities and allow more students to study exciting degrees at world class facilities in one of Europe’s greatest sporting cities.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of UCFB and GIS’s expansion journey and to use our expertise to help them achieve their ambitious goals.”

UCFB Chairman Brendan Flood added: “This £16million investment will transform the UCFB and GIS offer in Manchester, enabling the development of the next generation of talent for the rapidly growing football and sports industry in the region.

“We are delighted with the progress of our plans, and we look forward to welcoming our new and returning students to our new and improved expanded Manchester campus, in one of, if not the world’s greatest sport cities and the home of football.”
