will month

Beswicks Legal‘s Wills and Estates team is supporting the Douglas MacMillan Hospice by providing free wills in return for a donation to the charity.

The Stoke-on-Trent hospice’s annual Make a Will Month, which takes place throughout May, encourages people to make a will and ensure proper arrangements are in place to deal with their assets.

As part of the initiative, Beswicks’ wills and estates solicitors are providing free basic wills to supporters of the charity in return for a donation or legacy gift left to the hospice.

Wills and Estates Solicitor Sarah Mellor will be spending Wednesday 10 May at the hospice creating free wills for hospice staff and volunteers.

Sarah said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Dougie Mac with this important initiative and I’m looking forward to helping staff at the hospice lead by example with their own wills.

“People can put off making a will because they think it is complicated or expensive, but it needn’t be either of these things. Planning your will can give you and your loved one’s peace of mind about the future.”

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is a charity close to the hearts of the Beswicks team. In memory of former partner Mike Stephenson and the incredible care that he received, the team is organising a charity ball and a six dales challenge charity walk, as well as taking part in the Dougie Mac’s own events including this Sunday’s bike ride.

Jill Bowler, Head of Legacies, Individual Giving & Trusts at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice said: “Taking part in this campaign is a really great way to support the hospice and make a difference. Leaving a gift to Dougie Mac, no matter how small or large will help us continue to provide excellent care to our patients and families for years to come.”
