dougie mac will month

Beswicks Legal‘s Wills and Estates solicitor, Sarah Mellor, has visited the Dougie Mac to provide staff with free wills to mark the charity’s Make a Will Month.

The Stoke-on-Trent hospice’s annual campaign encourages people to make a will to ensure proper arrangements are in place to deal with their assets and to consider leaving a legacy gift to the charity.

The Beswicks Legal team is supporting the initiative by providing a free will writing service in return for a donation or legacy gift to the Dougie Mac.

Sarah Mellor said: “It was fantastic to spend time with the Dougie Mac team, gaining an insight into the incredible work that they do, while supporting them to organise their own wills.

“We are delighted to be involved in this important initiative for the whole month of May and I would encourage anyone who hasn’t got a will to contact us. As well as getting a basic will for free, their donation will support this fantastic local charity.”

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is a charity close to the hearts of the Beswicks team. In memory of former partner Mike Stephenson and the incredible care that he received, the team is organising a charity ball and a six dales challenge charity walk, as well as taking part in the Dougie Mac’s own fund-raising events.

Jill Bowler, head of legacies, individual giving and trusts at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, said: “We are very grateful for the support of our local solicitors. Leaving a gift to Dougie Mac, no matter how small or large, helps us to provide care to our patients and families now and in the future.”
