The sports law team at Beswicks Legal, led by Gary Mellor, has concluded a major sponsorship deal with sportswear giant Nike Inc. for their client, Stoke City and England goalkeeper, Jack Butland.

The lucrative contract extends Jack’s association with Nike through to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“As the number one choice for Stoke City, and for the future England team, the value of Jack’s stock to potential sponsors has risen immensely. When negotiating the contract on Jack’s behalf, we had to take into account his media presence and sponsors requirements”, said Gary.

The team handle endorsement and sponsorship contract negotiations for many of its sports professionals, which often contain complex and challenging issues surrounding image rights, branding and taxation.
