Beswicks’ commercial property team is delighted to have advised Citizens Advice North Staffordshire on the leases for a pop-up shop and a charity shop in Hanley’s Potteries Shopping Centre.
Commercial Property Partner Laura Pyatt negotiated the two leases on behalf of the advice charity, one for a temporary pop-up shop, which is now fully open, and another for a larger unit which will be home to a permanent shop once renovation works have been completed.
Laura said: “It’s always a pleasure to support the Citizens Advice service. Providing people with essential advice and guidance from its new premises in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent’s city centre will enable even more people to access their services. We’re very proud to have provided advice on the leases of these units.”
Craig Browne, Chief Executive Officer at Citizens Advice North Staffordshire, added: “The pop-up will be our first ever charity shop, which is now operating on the 2nd Floor of the Potteries Centre. From September, we will be opening our permanent unit (next to the Post Office), which will also incorporate an Advice Hub, Internet Café and eventually a Volunteer Training Centre of Excellence.
“As ‘The People’s Charity’ we are committed to providing advice and support in a key lifestyle location; helping to address digital exclusion and providing opportunities for local people to access training and gain valuable employability skills. In the meantime, any quality but unwanted goods will be gratefully received at our pop-up location in the Potteries Centre, Hanley.”
Citizens Advice North Staffordshire provides free, impartial advice to people on a wide range of issues like debt, benefits, housing, employment and consumer rights.
The pop-up charity shop, which is now open to customers, is on the second floor of The Potteries Centre, Hanley. As well as selling goods to raise money for the Citizens Advice, a drop-in service is also available for visitors to the shopping centre who need advice.
