Family Mediation Week takes place from 18 to 22 January this year with the aim of raising awareness among separating families of mediation and the advantages of resolving their issues through collaborative means.

Family breakdown is undoubtedly a stressful and highly emotive experience. There can be many complications, conflicting viewpoints and competing needs, which make it all too easy for the situation to become acrimonious.

Family mediation encourages couples to sit down together to work out a way forward that secures a positive outcome for themselves and their children avoiding the damage that bitter battles can cause.

It will come as no surprise that there is strong evidence to suggest that separations that are managed in this way are far less damaging to any children involved.

All of the family law solicitors at Beswicks Legal are trained mediators and Resolution-accredited. This means that we promote a constructive approach to family issues that considers the needs of the whole family.

The success of mediation and a collaborative approach to solving family matters relies on all parties approaching it positively and with a real will to reach an acceptable solution.

The benefits are very real though in terms of reducing any negative impact on children, the time taken to resolve matters and the costs incurred.

If you’d like to discuss family mediation or any aspect of family breakdown, please call 01782 205000 or email enquiry@beswicks.com to arrange an appointment with our expert team.
