How do I prepare my employees for ‘Brexit Day’? Brexit

As an employer, there are a number of things that you can do to prepare your workforce for Brexit.

The first job is to review your current employees. Find out how many are likely to be affected. If these employees decided to return to their home country, how would your business cope?

It is good practice to check Right to Work evidence to make sure everyone has the correct documentation as the law currently stands. This will also give you an indication of who may be considering returning home when their documents expire.

Make sure all employees who are EU nationals are aware of the options available to them including the government’s Settled Status Scheme.

Staff morale may be affected during this period. To help slow the number of employees choosing to leave your company, it could be worth reviewing your benefit or employee engagement processes. Offering rewards for good work shows employees that they are valued.
