What is probate? Private Wealth

Probate is the process of dealing with a person’s estate after they have died. Through probate, assets are distributed according to the terms of the will (or Intestacy Rules where there is no will). Probate is not necessary in all situations, but is required in most cases and particularly where there is a property or there are significant assets to distribute.

Probate can take between six and nine months to complete and even  longer if a will is contested, however, at Beswicks Legal we usually complete probate on small estates within three to four months. View our probate fixed fees.
