Meet Lauren Jodrell, a family solicitor with a secret talent for karaoke!

Lauren is one of the new family solicitors to be welcomed into the Beswicks‘ fold. Her arrival has contributed to the family department doubling in size, significantly increasing our ability to help clients requiring legal support with family matters.

We thought it was high time we got to know Lauren a little better, so have subjected her to a Beswicks Q&A.

Why did you choose family law?

I find it to be the area of law where I can assist clients with their problems on a personal level, as well as professional.

What was your first job (any job, not just legal) and what big lesson did you learn from it?

I worked in a country pub as a waitress and barmaid and this gave me my first taste of working under pressure!

What’s the most satisfying thing about your job?

Helping clients find solutions to problems during difficult times in their lives.

What makes a good family solicitor?

Someone who is empathetic, approachable and with a head for solving problems.

Do you have a secret talent?

I enjoy a bit of karaoke every now and again!

If you weren’t a solicitor, what would your ideal job be?

A historian.

If you could turn the clock back, what advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

To live in the moment and to care less about what people think.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Anywhere hot and sunny with a beach nearby.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy walking, cooking and spending time with my husband and little girl.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!
