Meet Lauren Jodrell, an experienced family solicitor who advises Beswicks’ clients across Stoke-on-Trent, Altrincham and the surrounding areas.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a family law associate with Beswicks. I qualified in 2014 and began my legal career at a firm in Birmingham before moving back to my hometown of Stoke-on-Trent in 2015. I then worked for a local firm before making the move to Beswicks in 2019.
When did you realise you wanted to be a solicitor and what made you specialise in family law?
After having some experience of the various legal careers, I decided that becoming a solicitor was the right choice as the most client-facing option. Family law is very diverse and family lawyers deal with the human aspect of the law, helping people at some of the most vulnerable times of their lives and this ultimately attracted me to family law.
What does a typical day as a Beswicks family law associate look like?
I will advise new and existing clients, draft correspondence and court documents, research legal issues and attend court hearings. No day is ever really the same!
What’s the best bit about your job?
Achieving a positive result following court proceedings is definitely one of the most rewarding aspects of the job.
What makes a good family lawyer?
Having empathy and applying a calm, reasoned approach to support your client through difficult and stressful situations. As a member of Resolution I am committed to assisting clients reach a conclusion in a non-confrontational manner, whilst always representing their interests robustly and thoroughly.
When you’re not working what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time with my family, socialising with friends and enjoying a nice glass of red wine.
