Male lawyer at employment tribunal

Beswicks Legal was pleased to hear that one of the country’s new Courts and Tribunals Service Centres is to be based in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Ministry of Justice unveiled plans for two new centres, one in Stoke-on-Trent and one in Birmingham, as part of an investment programme to digitise the justice system.

Basing a centre in Stoke-on-Trent has to be good news for the city, not least due to the fact that it will employ 300 people in roles ranging from processing cases, issuing court orders and hearing notices, and answering the telephone and online enquiries.

Added to that, will be the convenience to claimants and respondents in and around Staffordshire of having a centre on their doorstep.

At the moment people involved in tribunal matters have to travel to bigger cities such as Birmingham, so the main centre in Stoke-on-Trent will certainly save time and reduce travel costs.

New Courts and Tribunals Service Centre Explained

The centre is expected to bring together expertise in managing court and tribunal cases, bringing more services online and making courts and tribunals easier to access.

In my view, anything that makes it easier for claimants and respondents to resolve cases quickly and conveniently has to be a good thing.
