Disputed wills
There are a number of grounds on which a will can be contested from the deceased being put under unreasonable pressure or lacking mental capacity at the time of making the will, to errors in the way the will has been created. If you have concerns about the will of a deceased friend or relative, you must act quickly as claims under the Inheritance Act have a time limit of six months from the date that probate is granted.
Landlord/tenant disputes
Whether you are a landlord or tenant, we provide jargon-free advice, reducing the strain of disputes and avoiding costly court appearances where possible.
For landlords, we help you to deal with difficult tenants, while crucially, keeping you on the right side of the law. For tenants, we ensure your rights are upheld and protect you from unscrupulous landlords.
Contract disputes
With expertise in consumer legislation, we can help with a broad range of contractual disputes. We use negotiation and mediation to achieve an amicable resolution. If this isn’t possible, we have the litigation skills and expertise to represent you at court.
Property claims
When relationships break down people can often find themselves battling over their entitlement to a share in the property that they have lived in and worked on together. This can be a particularly stressful time both financially and emotionally.
We have a team of solicitors who can assist in the division of the property asset advising on your rights to seek a share and how to proceed to secure an amicable resolution.
Defamation
If someone is saying or writing things about you that are not true, it can be hugely distressing and have a detrimental effect on you, your family, your reputation and your livelihood.
If you have a case for defamation, we will guide you through the legal process to prevent any further comments from being made and remove existing harmful remarks. You may also be able to make a claim for compensation. With strict time limits in place, if you believe you have a case, it is important to act quickly, so do get in touch for a chat.
